Membership in the Moses' Fellowship is open to all who are aged 50 and above, although those nearing the half-century mark are also welcome to join us in our programs and activities. The Fellowship was inaugurated on 19 August 2001 to provide a wholesome environment for the senior members of the Church to meet and fellowship with one another. The objective is to enable them to engage in social and recreational activities which will help them to occupy themselves in a meaningful way.
Our Weekly Meetings:
There is a Moses' Lounge on the 4th Storey of our Church building where members can gather to socialise, read recent articles on health matters and have a coffee/tea as well as some light snacks. The Lounge is open from 10.30 am to 12.30 pm on Tuesdays for Bible Studies . Previous topics covered included Books of Genesis, Exodus, Numbers, James, Hebrews, Romans, Proverbs, selected Psalms & 1 Corinthians. Currently the Bible Study group is going through the gospel of John.
What Do We Do:
The Fellowship organises meetings on a two-monthly basis (usually on Sunday afternoons) where members come together for a time of worship, to listen to speakers on subjects of interest and to fellowship with each other during refreshment period. Topics that have been covered by past speakers include Living Graciously in the Golden Years; Psychological Aspects of Ageing - Coping with Change; Making Retirement Relaxing, Not Taxing; Loneliness; and Is There A Need To Make a Will? and A Guide to Nutrition for the Golden Years.
Moses Fellowship have initiated “Interest Group” which meets every Tuesday at 2pm at Bedok Sports Complex for a game of badminton, fully supported by South East Community Development Council.
Another popular activity organised by the Fellowship is outings and tours. These outings are also held on a two-monthly basis (where possible), and they alternate with the Fellowship meetings. We have conducted shopping tours to JB, a durian tour to Kukup, a 3D/2N tour to Malacca, Penggerang Fruit Farm, 3D/2N KL/Cameron Highlands Tour, Batu Pahat Buaya Tour and one day Kluang/JB tour, besides local tours.
In the last quarter of the year, Moses' Fellowship and SATA co-organise annual health screening for both BC members and residents staying in the vicinity of the church.
