At almost the same time last year, my family was under severe spiritual attacks. We had purposed in our hearts then to get back closer to God & church, and perhaps that was the reason for those attacks. My wife went through a period of depression. I was hospitalized 4 times in 3 months for even minor surgery such as Tonsillectomy & Appendectomy. The spirit of oppression was really over-powering at that time.

In the midst of these, God showed up, in his sovereign power and majesty. He sent Pastor Tay & Pastor Mark to visit me in the hospital. I remember lying on my hospital bed, with a tube sticking out of my nose, feeling drained yet excited at their visit. Pastor Tay gave me a word to "come under the cover of the church.". We spoke about a lot of things, but I only remembered those words. I called my wife immediately after they left, and said "Enough is enough. I am sick and tired of being sick and tired. It's time to stand up. For ourselves, and for Jesus.". Here's the good part, we never looked back after that.

Today, with our Pastors' continued support, and through our strong fellowship with our Oikos members, we stand firm even in the toughest situations. Shereleen has rejected and overcome the spirit of depression, I have kissed Changi Hospital good-bye, and my kids and family are enjoying a period of joy, peace and harmony that we have not experienced in the past.

In addition, I want to testify that I have yet to encounter one situation where God has not met us, when we prayed.

My 75-year old mother had a three-vessel heart blockage which needed open heart surgery. Pastor Tay laid hands on her and her chief surgeon miraculously dismissed the need for surgery. He said she showed NO physical symptoms! Healed in Jesus name!

My Son & Daughter caught Hand/Foot/Mouth disease from Kinderland school. We were distraught but we know God much better now and trusted that He would deliver us. Again, Pastor Tay prayed for Xavier outside our church's Chapel. He recovered in 3 days! My daughter had rashes on her buttocks and ulcers on her lips, but the symptoms cleared in 2 days. When God heals, the body must yield to the name of Jesus!

My wife and I have grown alot in this one year. Because we SAW for ourselves, how God delivered us. We have a God that DELIVERS. He brought us out from dark waters, healed my mother, healed my son, healed my daughter and is now blessing us in more ways than one. What other proof is needed of his Lordship?!

To such a deserving God, I have only this today: "As for me and my family, we will serve the Lord."

We firmly believe that this is the year of the Lord's blessing and favour on us. And not just for us, but for ALL of us in Bethesda Cathedral. And for those of you who have experienced God's goodness in similar fashion, I encourage you to join me in saying: "It's Pay-back time!". Thanks.
