My paralysed left leg came back to life!
Kim Gim Sim

On Mar 19, 2006 , I attended the Sunday Worship Service where Rev Prince Kudolo was the guest speaker. After the message, he started operating in the word of knowledge and called out for “someone in the service who had a leg that was shorter than the other.” My heart missed a beat and I responded. Rev Prince Kudolo sat me in a chair and told me to put my legs onto another chair and started praying for me. I could feel my leg tugging. He touched both my feet, and then asked Elder Pearleen to hold them. He then started to pray for healing and then the most amazing thing happened. Never in my life did I imagine that a paralysed and shorter leg like mine could move and lengthen. Elder Pearleen started crying. I was touched by Elder Pearleen’s response to the Holy Spirit’s work that I started thanking the Lord.

The following Saturday, Brother Yung Chuan asked me to go to church for further prayers by Pastor Tay as he felt that I had not received complete healing. Pastor Tay prayed in the name of Jesus for my left leg to grow and to be lengthened to its normal length and he also rebuked the spirit of infirmity. To my amazement, the leg lengthened accordingly. I left Pastor Tay’s office with Brother Yung Chuan but Pastor Mark called us back again as Pastor Tay wanted to pray for my paralysed left leg.

I had suffered from polio since I was one year old. Those of you who do not know what polio is, it is a highly infectious disease that affects mainly children and can result in paralysis and/or deformity of some parts of the body. In my case, I had post-polio paralysis of my entire left leg. Pastor Tay placed his hand on the lifeless left knee and in the name of Jesus he commanded the muscles to come alive. The dormant muscles on the lower part of the thigh started moving and twitching and it was an incredible feeling seeing the muscles twitch and move by themselves. Where this movement comes from – it can only be from the one and only mighty Jesus Christ, by whose stripes I have been healed! The power of the Holy Spirit was just SO STRONG. Pastor prophesized that I would be well by Easter, 2006.

On my way to the office the following morning (Mon, Mar 27), I started to climb the usual flight of steps. I put my hands on the railings as I normally did. A voice told me that I should take my hands off the railing and climb the stairs. I did just that and Hallelujah, God has healed me sufficiently to climb the flight of stairs without the use of the railing. I was so excited that I praised the Lord and called Pastor Tay to share with him what every one of you takes for granted – the ability to walk up a flight of stairs unaided. Praise the Lord!

The next day (Tues, Mar 28), my husband received an invitation to attend ‘Formula One’ in Melbourne that weekend. I told him I couldn’t go with him and suggested that he attended it himself. On hindsight, what the Lord was doing was to get my husband out of Singapore so that He could spend the whole weekend with me.

During that weekend the Lord reminded me to fast, to pray, to praise and worship Him as well as to exercise my legs. I remembered Pastor Tay’s prophesy - that I would be well by Easter. The Lord gave life to the tendon in the big toe to help me flex my heel and lengthen the leg. He gave life to certain muscles in my left leg so that I could stretch it out from the hip and put it straight. He taught me how to use my left leg again which I had long forgotten. To be able to walk and feel the heel of the once lifeless leg, to sit behind the steering wheel in the car and be able to lift the foot at the heel, to be able to climb the stairs unaided give me so much joy. Each time I progressed towards recovery, I thank the Lord for being so merciful and for allowing me to glorify His name.

OUR GOD is SO REAL. He is a living God. I hope my testimony encourages all of you on the inheritance that you can claim if you will just exercise the faith that God has given you. I really thank the Lord for healing me, teaching me how to pray, encouraging me to exercise my faith, teaching me about authority, reminding me that I have a role to play, and most importantly, to praise and worship Him.

As the song goes,

“God will make a way where there seems to be no way.
He works in ways we cannot see, He will make a way for me.
He will be my guide, hold me closely to His side.
With love and strength for each new day,
He will make a way. He will make a way.”

Amen.
