| In May this year (2002), I did a mammogram and was advised to follow-up with an ultrasound. My busy work schedule only enabled me to have the ultrasound done in mid-July.
The radiologist who carried out the ultrasound on my breast detected a complex cyst in my left breast. I had a second ultra-sound done the following day by the doctor at the laboratory and she confirmed the same finding. I was referred to a specialist at Mt. Elizabeth Medical Centre.
On 27 July I went to see the specialist, and he did another ultrasound followed by an aspiration to extract some fluid from the cyst. Further tests were done at his clinic to check whether the cyst was malignant. He showed me the result he discovered under the microscope - the cyst was very likely malignant. However to verify his findings, he said that he would send the fluid specimen to an external laboratory centre.
"Pastor Tay laid hands on me and prayed"
On Sunday, 29 July, my husband Michael and I approached Pastor Tay Cheng Kee to pray for me. Pastor Tay laid hands on me and prayed for the cancer cells in the cyst to die in Jesus' name.
On 5 August, I went back to see my specialist doctor. He confirmed that the findings by the external lab revealed that the cyst in my left breast was malignant and advised me to go for surgery without any delay. This was arranged for the next day, 7 August. Unfortunately I came down suddenly with a severe flu which lasted over a week. And my operation had to be postponed until I fully recovered.
During that whole week, my cell group members, some church members and close friends who knew about my situation were interceding fervently for me—that by God's wonderful grace I would be healed.
"Do not be afraid.
Just have faith in the Lord. He is with you”
On 15 August just before my operation Pastor Tay and brother Mark Chew came to visit me at Mt. Elizabeth Medical Centre. Pastor Tay laid hands once again on me and commanded the cancer cells to die and gone from my body. I remembered Pastor Tay's reassuring words to me: “Hazel, do not be afraid. Just have faith in the Lord. He is with you”. Yes, I placed complete faith in my Jehovah Rapha—trusting that in His unfailing love and mercy He will heal me.
"There were no cancer cells"
When I was wheeled out of the surgery room, my husband whispered these words to me, “the surgeon was surprised to find that there were no cancer cells in the cyst”. Praise the Lord! All glory and thanks to Him because by His stripes I have been healed! It was undoubtedly a miracle healing!
"To trust Him with all my heart"
This miracle has made me aware of lifes' vapor-like brevity and renewed in me a deeper desire to do His will and according to His instructions. I yearn to have a closer walk with Jesus—to “trust Him with all my heart; in all my ways acknowledge Him and he shall direct my paths”. Proverbs 3:5-6
Yes, I serve a loving and living Saviour !
He healed me. Praise the Lord! |
