The Mandarin congregation at Tanjong Balai

In line with the vision of our church, we embarked on our mission trip to the Indonesian island of Tanjung Balai. It is a small island situated just 2 hours via ferry from Singapore, with an area of 58 km² and population of about 125,000.

On the 13th May 2007, Pastor Tay and I headed for Tanjung Balai. When we arrived, the members of the church welcomed us at the ferry terminal and quickly took us to the church, just 5 minutes away. There were about 70 people in the hall at the Mandarin service and the service was conducted with much similarity with our own services.

After the service, we had dinner with the church leaders and we enjoyed the fellowship. We encouraged our fellow brothers and sisters in Christ to grow the Mandarin congregation.

We are committed to help and see this church grow and we'll be having Pastor Andrew Chng and myself preaching and ministering in the church twice a month.

May God grow and prosper this church so that many will come into the Kingdom of His Son , Jesus Christ. Amen!
