Pastor Mark Chew Su Hon
At the Good Friday Service on 9 April 2004, Mark Chew Su Hon was officially recognized as Assistant Pastor of Bethesda Cathedral, with the Elders laying hands on him.
Mark Chew is 36 years old and married. He was a civil engineer by training and “immigrated” to BC from a Methodist Church in 1998 and joined as a full-time pastoral staff on 1 July 1999. At his first staff meeting, Pastor Tay prophetically named him Mark, after ‘Mark’ in the bible. Just as the biblical Mark grew closer to Barnabas, so did our Mark who had grown closer to Pastor Tay, his mentor.
All this while, Mark has shown himself to be Pastor Tay’s faithful and loyal armour bearer as well as a proud defender of the integrity of Bethesda Cathedral. He is soft-spoken and always wears a smile on his face. He is rarely flustered, gentle, has self-control and agape love. Mark will walk that extra mile regardless of his personal discomfort. On many occasions, Mark accompanies Pastor Tay to visit members in their homes and hospitals, praying and doing deliverance work, regardless of time.
Mark presently heads our Evangelistic Outreach Ministry, personally leading and managing the evangelistic teams in prayer walking the neighbourhood, befriending the residents and sharing the Gospel whenever possible. He also helps Pastor Tay to run and manage the weekly Prayer & Praise meetings and is an Oikos leader.
Without a doubt, Mark Chew Su Hon has made the mark to be Assistant Pastor in Bethesda Cathedral!
